Advanced Kite Move - Railey, sbend, backside 180 landing blind

Last week Jandre Fraser boosted a big kiteloop and this week he’s sharing tips on a more advanced move.
How To
1. Get some speed, edge hard and pop off the water with the kite at 45 degrees
2. Do a railey and then fall forward into the move for the sbend.
3. During the sbend keep your head rotating and spot your landing.
4. Once your landing has been spotted continue the rotation landing blind.

Tips

  • Get enough speed and height to give you time to complete the rotations.
  • Start off with the kite a little higher as this will make it easier to get pop off the water.
  • Remember to keep your head rotating  as your body will follow.
  • Pull the bar in towards your hip right before landing.

Have you got a video of yourself doing some sick moves? Send them to GUST to publish.

Intermediate Technique - Backroll

Kwazulu Natal GUST girl, Kathryn Clarke McLeod, takes us through the basics of a backroll. She claims that nailing this one is all about commitment. Like she says, start first in very small waves and use as a kicker, else get some pop on flat water. In this way, you avoid an expensive lesson getting your kite munched in the waves if you drop it a couple of times while practicing. If you  have any advice for getting a backroll waxed, post them here. Read Kathryn’s guide.
