BEST Africa is eagerly awaiting their order of the 2010 kites. The two models to look out for are the Nemesis and the Waroo.
NEMESIS NXG - For the performance rider
The all new Nemesis NXG sets the news strandard for BEST for performance riding, providing a great balance of C-kite responsiveness and SLE performance. Demanding riders will find it the perfect choice for aggressive Big-air and high powered Freestyle riding.
Combining a Cuben equipped LE with Twister Techtm and a radical new wingtip layout delivers faster, more powerful turn initiation with reduced bar pressure, maximizing handling responsiveness in any wind conditions. The reduced diameter Cuben Equipped LE reduces drag and improves LE stiffness; allowing you to ride the Nemesis NXG harder and faster upwind and still deliver more than enough lift to satisfy any Big-air freak.
A deeper, more powerful central canopy profile delivers great light wind ability while the VP3 bridle completely eliminates backstall, even when riding unhooked, ensuring that the NXG remains ultra stable across its entire wind range. Add in Canopy Framing, a 3D Kevlar airframe and Best’s legendary Surf Tough construction and you have the perfect kite choice for all performance focused riders, in any wind, on any wave.
WAROO 2010 - For the free-rider
The 2010 Waroo takes the Freeride concept further than before, adding Kahoona like ease of use and Nemesis aerodynamic performance to deliver the ultimate ‘do anything ride everywhere’ kite.
The addition of Twister Tech, EZ pump and the new Flat-Pack LE construction make the 2010 Waroo more responsive and fun to fly than before. Revised canopy profiling delivers huge depower while a new Delta-wingtip design ensures that this will be the easiest relaunching Waroo you have ever owned.
The ‘2010 Waroo comes with a revised VP3 bridle for perfect stability and ABC Auto Tune for confidence-inspiring versatility and ease of use. The well known Surf Tough build quality, 3D Kevlar Airframe and original Canopy Framing ensure your Waroo can withstand any abuse you throw at it.

Have a great Monday.
This morning caught up with Reinhardt Fourie, brand manager of Dakine, to hear about his experience at Dungeons last Tuesday. He landed up treading water for over 40 mins, contending with severe rip currents, thoughts of possible shark attacks and managed to stay calm amidst all of this.
Listen to Reindardt’s story here as well as highlights from the new product line for kiteboarders.
Visit dakine.com for the latest product line for guys and girls.
Have you checked out the new North shop in Table View? Visit them at 14 Beach Boulevarde and demo the new Rebel.

The new Ben Wilson dvd ”Coming Together” is here!
The dvd’s title is a reference to those m a g i c days when you score the perfect combination of wind and waves, and feature’s SA’s own big wave legend Twiggy.
The who’s who of wave riding deliver stellar performances including, Josh Mulcoy, Maurcio Abreu, Moehau Goold, Reo Stevens, John Amundson, Bertrand Fleury, Ryland Blakeney, Marc Ramsier, Grant Baker, Jake Gordon, Martin Vari and of course Ben Wilson himself.
Highlights of the dvd would have to be when Ben Wilson and Reo Stevens join Mick fanning, Stephanie Gilmore. Beau Young, Dave Kalama and Robby Naish in Micronesia for a once in a lifetime day of perfect waves.
“It was a pretty sick day, there was pretty much every type of surfing you could do going on. There were some real sick moments, Reo was doing Reo’s, fully throwing tail and Ben pulling in, it was sick, it was really sick to watch. Like it’s hard enough getting barreled as it is and then to guide his (Ben) kite through it, it was sick to watch for sure”. Mick Fanning

The 2010 Cult returns as one of the world’s most user friendly all-terrain kitesurfing kite. The new simplified bridles provide direct and light bar feel, and the degree of Sigma angle has been increased to improve turning characteristics and linear bar feel.
The Cult is designed for beginner through advanced kiteboarders seeking a stable, easy-handling kite. The Cult now boasts an even larger sweet spot, ideal pull through the turns, and enhanced smoothness. Beginners will enjoy the smooth and responsive steering, light bar pressure, and depower capability. Advanced riders will appreciate the balanced feel hooked-in or unhooked. The easy re-launch will help beginner to advanced rider get back up and going in a moment.
It’s available in the following sizes: 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, 10.5, 12, 13.5, 15
Why the Sigma Outline and Geotech on the 2010 Cult
The 2010 Cult continues as Naish’s Sigma Outline/GeoTech LE kite. The Sigma Outline moves the center of effort behind the tow point and produces balanced linear power with light bar pressure at all angles of attack. GeoTech incorporates straight segments in the LE from strut to strut to provide constant canopy tension with a wrinkle free canopy, and no collapsing to assure a huge sweet spot.
2010 Universal Control System
The 2010 Universal Control System has a new front line configuration that was inspired by the Naish Shift System. The front lines now have a 3m single line to a Y point. The front flagging leash system has been improved and weight saved by removing the stainless Center Line Organizer and Swivel. The bar comes standard with the Smart Loop, auto-orienting sheeting loop, and optional sliding stopper.
With a greatly improved “through the bar” front line leash system, and new larger floaters, the 2010 Universal Control System is more streamlined and functional than ever before. It will come standard with both the 2010 Cult and Helix.
Whether you are a beginner looking for a kite that’s safe, stable, and reliable; Or a seasoned veteran looking for one kite that does everything, the Cult is an excellent choice!
